your box with smiles
opens its fan and the star
climbs another street

This is one sample of striking images in the poem. I find
this "Prranks" series quite interesting, thanks to the humour, the metaphors and the themes.

I also enjoyed the intensity of these two lines:

I can see the sun in your face
and quickly go blind

Cheers from Willy

i'm happy you enjoyed parts of the poem, willy. actually this is an older poem, in the metaphoric-imagistic style. in the meantime, i changed a little bit my style.

cheers, willy

It’s such a sadness to read translated poems. They look to me as strangled birds. Translation by itself can’t be perfect as path and music of different languages are different. It is the flavor of language that cheats and betrays the poem even with best possible translation.

Wonder how this beautiful poem would have sound if it would have had the chance to be originally created in English?

this time you are perfectly right. the poem was translated approximately. sometimes gets better, sometimes worse. what could we do?

I`ve read the original and the translation. The difference? The text in Romanian is as fluent as the surface of a lake, in which the reader must seek the deeps. The text in English is a broken mirror in which you can get a glance of the lake... This is why translations in English must be made by native speakers and vice-versa.

I enjoyed the text... but the form is really... unnatural.

maybe you are right. anyway, this is an old poem, translated somehow in a hurry.
