Hello again Sydney! Very powerful aspects in this poem. My opinion is that you exposed the fall of World Trade Center towers, and the pain that affected all; or maybe I am wrong about my idea. But the poem truly "flows", a canopy of images: “Angel’s souls flee”,” its voice choked
by maroon smoke”,” from the ashes rising
an iron cross, upright and tall".
Very beautiful, and I think that you deserve one more star.
Hope you will get it!
Cheers from Marius!

...a bit beside the point. To me this seems quite like a description of an old wooden church, with the bell and everything. Am i mistaken, Sydney. Anyway, I really enjoyed this one. Powerful images. Drama.

Cheers from Willy

=  Topic about the meaning ... anyway, it deserves to be read!

Indeed Willy, I never thought to this interpretation but is very possible. Now, all we have to do is to wait for Sydney's response.

=  Thanks, you were right, Willy, it is a church!

It is indeed an old church. Saw it in a TV film burning and could hear the aching and moaning..
