I don't know for sure but I see behind the eye of the bird a standing and waiting for answers in the loneliness of thoughts; a meditation state under the full moon sky, in silence.

Cheers Willy and have a nice evening!

...and I was quite aware of the difficulties as to interpretation when I posted this poem. Yet there was an emotion here I needed to express.
Cheers from Willy

Takes time to understand, but it flows well and I like it nevertheless.

There are two parallel levels in this haiku. First; the literal one: A space traveler trapped in his vessel, enclosed by the never-ending cosmic night; starshine in the distance.Loneliness to a scaring degree is an obvious result. "An eye for a bird."? Throughout the journey he has seen and experienced a lot, but for years now, there's just been this vast black solitude and of course, no birds!

The other level is the symbolic one. The images depict
one individuals feeling of loneliness, built up for a very long time. There may be birds, but does he/she really see
them? The wish is definitely there!

Now I do hope I didn't clarify this too much!
Cheers from Willy

The text may be read either way, or the two ways may be blended. Personally I tend to prefer the last.

Hi John!
Thanks for your comment, it was a real pleasure to learn something about you and your literary work, I'm very surprised to discover some similitudes in our poetical visions, next April I'll invite you in Oslo to one of my solo exhibitions of painting.

Best wishes,

Constantin

...of you. I really look forward to that! Similarities in poetical visions? Art and literature is universal in many senses and the very same impulses may influence two individuals vastly separated geographically and with no knowledge of each other. Intriguing, nicht wahr?
Cheers from Willy
