Monica, i au tlakab Uab Metô neu ho puisi “Tell me, Johnny, who I am!”. Au !loim puisi i. In namnaub kau neu neno unû. Oras au fê an-anâ kau, tuaf bian noën kau Johnny. Tamamolok-me, Uab Metô/Dawan nane uab es nâko Pah Timor (neonsaet ma neontes). Munî i - natuin internet - uab lê neno unû tuaf namfau ka nahine nabeî mateab neu pah-pah.

(Monica, this is my Dawanese translation of your poem “Tell me, Johnny, who I am!”. I like the poem. It reminds me of the old days. When I was a little boy, people would call me Johnny. By the way, Uab Meto/Dawan is a language spoken in Timor (east and west). Nowadays - thanks to the Internet - the language that was once unknown to many people is now known to the world.)

Kolo es a-nfin nan in neöp neik malinat.
In natnín-a mtaus ahenut ma feü mesê.

In nâmaet keran ma nait handuk
Nnoesnain matnú lê naheun in human.
Ka nmuî fa !ninô he ntae Johnny in masan…
Alaha in hanan es matninâ onlê huruf vokal.
