In a reverie
shaped like a mistery,
dressed in a memory
they smiled me a lullaby
how they'd never say goodbye,
a promise like a sigh
just like a sparrow sings
the way a child speaks
of complicated things.
I counted to ten
then counted again
again , again and again...
and before it went dark
I signed the tree's bark
with a question mark.
