Rays of hope were swallowed When the morning twilight followed After the crimson crash of dawn That succeeded the day’s first yawn. One day passed without using your harness To keep yourself balanced and flawless, So they joke and poke and stab Having only this to nab. As the old day dies, As the new night shines, The end is at its beginning When the clocks start spinning. Spin, spin, spin, Your fortune in a can of tin Using only a purple pin, To point to your present sin. Dare to choose to end The world’s neglected lag Between its treasure and its rag Dare to say: Not today… …my friend…
