On 19th of December 2006 I was asked to participate in an auditing meeting organized by the Investment Management Center, Beijing Railway Administration and the meeting was to be held in Beidaihe, a famous summer resort in China. Since it was cold winter I did not have any idea why they had chosen the place while people believed we might as well have it in Beijing so that we would not take trouble to spend nearly seven hours on train.
Things seemed lucid when we arrived there. What we breathed was fresher air, what we saw was bluer sky and what we felt though a little bit arctic, still extremely quiet and clean. Especially as I was taking a stroll along the beach during the break I found myself so lucky that the entire sea was only for me to enjoy. No one was disturbing or nothing was blurring my view. I fancied that I were just mingling with the sea and the sea with the sky…. all was turning into a harmonious one. And this was all in all to me away from the daily chaos, frustrations and those heart -torturing agonies. I was also given a chance to visit the Lianfeng Hills, a very big park in the west of scenic spot area alongside the beach. Despite of the freezing temperature I climbed up to the highest point-the ocean view pavilion with an elevation of 150m from which I could see far and wide including the sea and the entire city thus allowing me to compose a poem in Chinese: 破晓日出照松林, 闲来漫步入山门。 福地生根观沧海, 登高望远独一人。 At daybreak while the sun is shining, Upon a hill I am strolling Standing on the place of Fortune, I find only myself viewing the ocean.
