Pour la première fois de sa vie
un gitan s’en va chez le coiffeur
Ses cheveux sont longs, très longs, si longs.
Longs comme un jour sans pain, sans vin, sans femme et sans chansons.

Comme il va entrer dans la boutique, il croise un autre gitan qui en sort
et celui-là a le visage tout balafré, tout couturé, tout saignant

Alors le gitan le regarde qui s’éloigne en grommelant
et dit au coiffeur en entrant
« Surtout ne me coupez pas la tête
car si vous le faisiez, comment pourrais-je vous payer ! »
