A great artist once said in an interview:When you have 20 releases or when you feel there is nothing to be said in your music at that time, it's time to put out your first "best of".
There are more than 7 years since I discovered Counting Crows. 7 years and no less than 20 releases.
In 1996, I was accidentally listening a pirate tape with "August and Everything After". 2003 and I can say that I own all Counting Crows albums in original. And my heart stand still in august and everything after...
Tomorrow is the day when I will order "Films about ghosts - The Best of Counting Crows" with the certainty that this is only the step towards the next twenty exceptional releases signed Counting Crows.
If you haven't had the opportunity to listen to them, now it's your chance with this "Best Of" and I can assure you that you will get all their songs as fast as you can say "Counting Crows".
I will not tell you (at least not now) what their music is about. Their music has to be listened to. I will only say that Adam Duritz is composing poetry, although he claims to be only lyrics, words for music.
I will start bringing my omage to the band I love the most. I already started to post in our "Classic Authors" section his poems and I will invite you to read an attempt for translations on several of them to the Romanian Language.
There's only one more thing that i want to announce. Tomorrow, November 26 2003, Counting Crows have a Christmas gift for all their fans.
At exactly 21:00 GMT, at this address you can chat live with Adam Duritz and Counting Crows.
I will try to be there for you and come back with details, but i know there are some passionate members in this community that will want to be there themselves.
This last release, "Films About Ghosts", who's cover you can see at the top of this article, is the fruit of 10 years of hits on 4 albums that had a huge success.
Here's a list of tracks and you will be glad to discover two brand new songs, "Friend of the devil" and "she don't want nobody near":
