BROKEN HOURGLASS
Listen... Close your eyes And listen to the rain. Abandon yourself to this moment’s slumber And let the rain enchain you. A new atmosphere beckons… Hold your breath And let the night inhale you, Sipping your butterfly – shaped body Within the hourglass of vanity. The candle your eyes cannot Escape from – Your eternal nightmarish torment, The deadly link that would never let you Leave your ephemeral sphere. Shut your ears to morbid deafness And let this threnody stab your numb senses With the dagger born from your own Ignorance and fright. What is it that enhances The dreadful shivers inside your Imaginary hour-glass shaped moon? Could it be the unexpected shriek Of the bat that, Having trapped its bloody fangs Inside a deserted wall of night, Is desperately crying for your help? Twin souls that have eventually reached one another, You bond and writhe in agony, Running like mad in search for escape, But your blindness won’t let you reach The hourglass that broke Under the merciless fangs Of your own elapse. - SORANA - Copyrighted © Sorana Salomeia, Iasi, Romania
