GHOST SHIP
by Sorana Lucia Salomeia The angel of the night is crying – The only angel there is to weep, Hiding its face behind Venetian masks Of anger or bitter anguish, Trying not to utter a word… Its eyes are two mournful wells That let their last tears fall On the tormented sea waves – In vain! There is no way back now, The ship raises its sails, It will go! The sea and the wind Have turned their faces from the sun And flap their wings like mad – The world stands still – I must take my leave now. And as the ship departs from its beloved shore, Picture me watching it fade in the distance In search of its mournful destiny, Embracing with a last glance The departing ghost ship.
