I’m far away from you and lonely by the fire,
And in my mind I see my life I so desire, It seems that eighty years have passed since I’ve been living That I’m as cold as winter, that soon you will be leaving, Memories keep falling like teardrops on my heart Awaking the trifles I haven’t yet forgotten; The wind’s fingers now, are knocking on the windows, And in my mind I see how the story grows, And then, in front of me, you’re passing through the fog With tears in your big eyes, with thin hands, very cold, With both your arms you hang around my neck real slow You want to tell me something…but then you only morn… My treasures-beauty and love-I hold them very close, In kisses we unite our poor little souls… Oh! Memory’s voice will stay forever dead, So I’ll forget forever the luck that I once had, Forget how in a moment you left me empty hand… I would be old and lonely, you would be long time dead!
