She came with that uncharted skin
to span me over the senses
like a smog.
A love I couldn’t mould.
She smote me away
under the cloven clay
she chiseled in my spine
rough fingers into strip mine
her outcropping kisses
etched on my mouth
with no aseptic ruth.
Except her heart,
she was all stone-proof.
