My Women’s Husbands
poetry [ ]

2011-10-21  |     |

my sweethearts are all alike their coloured shoes are shining and under their short some long skirts the night in the sun is hiding

one of two has her neck adorned with the cross of a word some other nine under the skin have the stings of thousands of rings and

each one early or later in life was at least once my wedded wife

the men in the life of my sweethearts were soldiers guarding an umbrella’s ramparts faulty it was

when the rain fell not a single drop wetted of land a spot

now I love in only one girl that’s my lot another woman again joined in wedlock as if I was a primitive man a barbarian on a crazy mare chasing the town’s Lord Mayor or a country’s president whose self-assumed right divine is to pee on the spine of the whole world convened at the meeting where several parents are asking some saints to produce their mark book with the marks they took

I’m happy my howling smells of perfume sweet I tear off the label and smoke comes out of it someone has put on the smell on their eyes and now they’re treading on the back on the muscles on the vertebrae the holes down to the knee

once I came underwater on an oar boat there was a flute above the water on a stretcher they put to dry the salted fish of my heart oh my they tore my inner being out the husbands of my women dear they all signed the sentence with perfunctory veneer – I was as alive as a nail from which the painting’s hanging lame on the other side from which I came

sleep well I told my mother when she was just losing her life the dream which is cut with a knife differs from that which first melted is given shape and is then coated to sell at the fair cheaper than dreams most while having a chat with the ghost

my sweethearts are all the same

on the inside of each ring is indented my name my name is there your name is the same just read … look at it twice the name underneath is so nice
