after the storm
the sea would calm
rarely has such a phenomenon been seen
tranquil enought to reflect the night's sky
only a few poets from the deserts
have depicted the crystal of the face of the deep blue
yet were laughed for who could imagine such perfection
such an alien happy creature
for man's light is sometimes darkness
the sadness of the winged fool
so we laughed and joy came to us
for fear that if we stopped
anyone might become the anti-lucifer
pale beams of light, reflections of
what we once were
heaps of dust with child-like faith
for only thought can imagine such things
and go beyond through troubled waters
like a ship witch had a captain with the father's heart
with soft but penetrating eyes
and a bag with gold tied on his belt
a small beard and an elegant cheek
he was loved, played dice with his men
knew them all and was never angry
because the sea would always be rough
yet the sky inspired him always
and the men were inspired by him
and acted more out of love than duty
because they knew that the ship was wood
and the wives at home would cry
for lonelyness is no easy codition
one night after a feast of turkey
most of the men retired to their cabins to sleep
but the captain had two candles lit on the nighstand
next to the compass, maps, and telepscope
and read from an ancient book tales
gentle thoughts filled his aura
as he dreamed away
so the book rested on his chest
Away! Away! shouted a sailor
running and knocking on the door
the captain quickly put on his robe and shoes
and ran on the stairs to the deck
but only the sound of his steps on the wood was heard
no waves smashing on the bowls
in silence the night was black
the stars were hurtled
but from his deck he saw the two worlds as one
