I dreamed of you, my love! You were crying.
You, who never shed tears,
although you have always cried in yourself.
By the signs, that's how men cry!
I was the only being I could hear
inner crying.
Did they use my caresses on you?
Why were you crying in a dream, my love?
I liked watching you on the mornings when,
the first rays of the sun kissed your face;
it seemed to me that he was sleeping with me
the loving, immortal god.
When you smiled,
I knew you were dreaming of something beautiful.
On the screen of your sky
lights appeared and disappeared;
your eyelids were shaking, your eyeballs were moving…
When you suddenly opened your eyes,
I read in them the joy of being with me.
So, I was adding a new day
in the book of our lives, in two.
I loved you like a god
and I thought you were immortal, my love!
