Let me leave in tranquility
In silence
And rest on the night's breasts
And moon's lilies

I want not my moan to be heard
So that it stifles the groan of the oppressed
Nor the sky of my sorrow to rain down
Upon the cities of thieves and mobs
Who oppress and torture me
And build citadel and palaces
With the blood and sweat of the poor...

Arise, O God, who is crucified
In our sorrows
Dreams
Tears
Sweat
And blood
For lo!
Madly, in the depths of despair
The world is going insane
Committing suicide
With the guillotine of the wealthy...

Let me depart in peace
As a rebel
Who longs to baptize the world
With the philosophy of love
Drown it in the opium of dreams
And designates the oppressed
Kings and princes...

Let me depart in peace
As a poet
Who gets intoxicated
On the wine of language
Sings
To the divine rain
The brooks
Wherein
The soul of earth and heaven glitters
Sparrows that travel freely
Without a passport, identity card or visa
Lilies that hymn God's praise
And sanctify His name
Butterflies that savor
Sweet wetness of kisses
From the flowers' lips
Suckling grass that eagerly awaits
Milk of the sky...

Let me depart in peace
As a lover
Who adores God
Loves femininity
And earth's soil...
