sometimes
I put my ears against
the old cathedral
and listen
to the city's extrasystolic heartbeats
I've come to like
its strong, heavy perfume
of pizza, shaorma, dior
petrol and history
I close my eyes
and I see
french demoiselles playing
with emo girls
while time is drinking its coffee
at a nearby terrace
