About Good Poetry
What makes poetry a pleasure, A delight you discard never? Talent? No, it’s not my favored answer on this page; Inspiration acts on stage. If you ever see the play, Your eyes will touch the brightest ray, ‘Cos all the poetry can be Is nothing but a deity, And the lines that are professed No humans here can confess. And this is one I do admit: There is no talent but a gift; That’s why some rhymes are all just real, They are a company and not a drill. Hope that you will understand What’s the talent, what are men; And that all of us down here Are simple lines of mighty will.
