My children are dancingā¦so happy and freeā¦ Unāware of the horror theyāll unwillingly seeā¦ One now is tired, on hollow log sits, And looks at the candle that happiness litsā¦ And looks in the distance and frightened he isā¦. For he saw Death come out the abyssā¦. And tells to the others, but all think he liesā¦ āTill seen for themselves how Death life defiesā¦ Candle burnt out, lit sky is by flames, Reflected in puddles of hope wearing namesā¦ Nothing stood up this onrush I see, And worms crawl to nestsā¦that once danced with gleeā¦
