The water was silent. Its surface was as clear as a mirror. It urged you to sink in it, to discover all its secrets. At zenith the sky was blue-mauve, but in the North it became dark. The stars were burning like some torches, the moon was showing its illuminated part; it seemed to be be a dream. Far away, as coming from another world, the sound of a guitar was heard... and lyrics... and feelings...
Little waves were dashing on the land bringing with them shells and coral. After that they were returning to the sea and for a moment all was unfliching as the time had stopped. The wind was blowing gently.
She was lying there. The water reaching her was warm. The rumbe of the sea urged her to dream. She wanted to be again the teen-ager before, having no problems, feeding with dreams and illusions without knowing if that's good or bad. She raised her watch to the sky. The
stars had dissapeared, the moon was covered by clouds.
It transformed into a shadow. Her thoughts were light years away. She wanted to have wings, to fly, to fly away... to reach clouds and get into them, to touch dreams and feel them like a material thing, to pass by the barrier of time and relive memories.
Maybe tomorrow she'll be someone else, maybe tomorrow she'll feel something else.
She'd like to come back to the fire raising near the tents like a neverending stake, biting from the night's darkness. She'd like to stay there, in his arms, saying she wishes the night lasted forever. No! Not forever, because she doesn't know what "forever" means,
because she doesn't know what "forever" assumes.
But she remains there. Steps are heard. The sand betraies his approching...
