I didn't believe in ever learning transience Forever young, enshrouded in my mantle My eyes dreamily opened towards the star of Solitude When, all of a sudden, you tread in You, suffering, oh heavenly sorrow I drank deep the voluptous lees of relentless Death. Of Nessus' dire combustion do I pitifully moan Or like Hercules in his poisoned cloak The fire within can not be quenched with all The waters of the deep. Scorched by my own dream I wail On my own pyre I dissolve into blazes Could I incandescently stream from within A phoenix? Shut lids over woeful eyes Run to my bosom sad unconcern That I may die in peace, give me My selfã
